The Big Chop
Big Chop (BC) is the code word used by Sistahs who have made a conscious decision to remove all signs of chemically permed hair and allow their root-growing hair to return to its natural state.
This transition is indeed an emotional journey. So, in order to make life a little bit easier for these Sistahs during this time period, some have opted to using various methods such as wearing scarfs, braids, or weaves, to help lessen the pain of losing so much of their hair at one time that may or may not have been damaged by the chemicals used in the perms.
We hope that if you are contemplating doing the same thing with your locks, that you will get some encouragement from the Sistahs we have selected in the following videos.
Good Luck in your journey.
